One line
A first-person survival and colony-building game, alone or with up to three friends: wake aboard a damaged colony freighter after an 84-year crossing, reach a world seeded with Earth forests, and build its first industry with a fleet of robots.
Short
Earth is dying. The ESV Meridian, a freighter finished in a hurry as a colony ship, has crossed 84 years of space to Nova Eridani, a world where an uncrewed precursor ship planted Earth's first forests long before. You wake in orbit to a damaged ship and Melanie, its blinded onboard intelligence. Repair her senses, reach the surface, and lay the foundations of a colony with the robots you build.
Long
By the end of the twenty-second century, humanity could send a ship to another star. Then a war that was over in less than a week left a winter that never really ended.
Years earlier, while there was still time to be patient, humanity had sent Genesis: an uncrewed ship carrying seeds and frozen plant embryos, soil cultures, and algae and plankton for the sea. On Nova Eridani its machines trialled them for years before they planted the first tree outside, and that one lived.
Now the ESV Meridian, a freighter still being built when the expedition took her over, reaches orbit after eighty-four years. You wake in its recovery suite. Melanie, the ship's intelligence, has been blind since a debris strike six years ago, and you are her eyes and hands. Restore the ship one system at a time, then descend to a coast where Earth's forests grow among native life.
On the surface, everything you build is for the people who come after. Fell and saw timber by hand, raise brick and timber buildings, and build robots in a fabricator. Then put them to work as foresters, woodcutters, sawyers, haulers and builders. Talk to them, give them orders, and watch a settlement run.
Play it alone, or with up to three friends: start the expedition together, or open your colony to others later on.
Nova Eridani is in development. Showcase 01 — “Arrival” is in private testing. Screenshots are from the in-development build.
