Up to Four Players. One Expedition.
Nova Eridani can now be played together. One to four players share a world, a story and a colony, from the damaged Meridian down to the first industry on the surface.

Development update. Co-operative play is new and early. Details will change.
Nova Eridani was built as a first-person game you inhabit, not a board you look down on. That still holds when someone else is standing next to you.
One to four players share a world, a story and a colony. Single player is the same game with one person in it.
Three ways in
You can start an expedition together. Everyone who joins before you leave the ship wakes aboard with the host, and the opening is something you do as a crew.
A game begun alone can take on further players later in the story. The colony does not have to wait for a full roster before it exists.
And there is sandbox co-op, with no story: build and gather on the same ground, whenever you want.

Repairs, discoveries and the colony are shared. Each player's own awakening and personal moments stay theirs. Doors, supplies and objectives are shared fairly, so one crate is not looted twice. Big journeys, such as the drop pod to the surface, wait until everyone is ready.
Honest status
Co-op is playable in current development builds, and it is new. One player hosts; the others join by IP address. There is no server browser or friends-list invite yet. If the host leaves, the session ends for everyone. Colony robots and the economy run on the host's game and are not yet shown working on the other players' screens. Specialisations are chosen and saved, but they do not yet change how a player plays.
We would rather ship a small, working expedition than advertise a friends list that is not there. Steam invites, a fuller view of the colony on every player's screen, and specialisations that change how you play are planned. They are not in the game today.
Until then: wake the ship together, or open the gate later. The forest is already growing.
